At the bottom of a recent email from a friend, I found this pearl of wisdom. I am no longer much involved in politics in the US but the quote below really makes me wonder.
The Iraq War is costing $720 million per day,
$500,000 per minute, says the Friends Service
Committee. One day could buy homes for 6,500
families or health care for 423,529 children,
or could outfit 1.27 million homes with renewable
electricity. It is so only because we tolerate it.
