Festivales de Octubre – Todos Santos

The October festival commemorating the founding of Todos Santos is not only a secular party, it’s also a religious event focused on the church in the main plaza, Nuestra SeƱora del Pilar. Here is this year’s poster for the religious part of the festival. I am waiting for the other poster and dates of the festival.

This, as well as the other secular poster, is the work of Leonel Enrique Gonzalez Estrada, a young local graphic designer.

Swooning in Todos Santos!

Hey, it’s HOT!! I believe last night was the hottest yet of the summer. Remember, the worst of our summer is September through mid-October. At 11 pm, it was still 87f in my trailer even with all the windows and doors open and all the fans moving as much air as they could. By dawn I think it managed to go down to 82f but that’s it folks. And it’s humid. And we have another storm deadset on visiting us. I have rarely seen a projected path quite like this one – it’s a freakin’ boomerang!! Get ready for Tropical Storm Lowell to come a visitin’ to Todos Santos.

At this moment, 3:57 pm MDT, the skies outside are very steel grey and it’s drizzling a bit. There is an ominous feeling in the air as if it will rain soon and hard. But you never really know.

Here’s that screwball project path for Lowell, courtesy of NOAA.
