We did attend the festival last night. The general feeling among the folks I encountered was that the weather really put a damper on the events. The whole energy level was low. I imagine people from outlaying areas didn’t bother to come into town and were concerned with future flooding and high winds. The main entertainment was a female singer name Ericka. She didn’t even have a band backing her, merely a tape machine. She was good, a real crowd pleaser. Of course it rained off and on during her performance.
As usual there was lots of food, games and things for sale. Prices continue to rise and that might have bummed some people out also. All in all, something just seemed off a bit. I have photos but I will wait until tomorrow to post them, hoping that somehow the coronation of the Queen will happen tonight. Looking doubtful though as the skies are dark and grey and it looks like rain to me. Also, most of the gypsy vendors have taken apart their stands and right now, there is not much to do at the festival.
