Hello all, yes I have been missing in action. You have to forgive me as life has been very full and demanding. Those of you who actually know me understand that I am building a house (finally after 4 years in a camper/trailer) and that El Calendario and my personal life are taking more and more of my “free” time. Ha!!! What’s that, free time? Anyway, here’s hoping I can catch up and keep up in 2009. I wish all of you a wonderful new year and hope that it brings better tidings.
The 1st Annual 5K Todos Santos Walk/Run race was held today. The promoters hoped for 200 participants and it seems they got double that. I did the walk. It was a blast!!! More on that later – I have some photos and interesting comments.
The poster for the 2009 Todos Santos Art Festival was release a couple of weeks ago. The festival is Jan 31 – Feb 7, 2009. You can read more about it (not your normal art festival) at Todos Santos Pages Art Festival page. Here’s a small version of the poster for you to view:

The artist for this year’s poster is Diaz Castro, a talented young artist working out of La Paz and showing his work locally at Galeria Indigo.
Some very sad news – local surf board shaper, longboarder and noserider Tommy Lewis passed away on January 2, 2009, in Oceanside, CA. He was accompanied by his girlfriend Mary and his dog Duncan. Just a few months ago, Tommy won the Master’s class in a longboard contest in Malibu. He was recently diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor. Todos Santos and the entire world surf community will miss him. Vaya con dios Tommy!
