I hope everyone out there had a safe and happy New Year’s celebration. Here in Todos Santos, the normal mayhem ensued at the normal (plus 1 new) locations. The big “extranjero” parties happened at Hotel California, Buena Vida and Rancho Pescadero (new on the scene this year.) I made it to the 2 in Todos Santos and will post some photos soon. The Hotel California had less attendees than in past years, maybe the price was a factor in this soft economy. Buena Vida was fairly full of people but I think not as many as last year either. Most Mexicans went to fiestas at Salon Leo or Mutualista but even those events didn’t seem to me to be as well attended as in the past.
Tomorrow is the 2nd Annual Todos Santos 5K Walk/Run. It starts in the Plaza at 9 am and on site registration begins at 7:30 am. I won’t be walking or running (my ankles hurt) but I preregistered and donated some money toward a good cause. I’ll stay by the finish line and get photos as the participants arrive.
