As of today, June 15, construction continues on the dune in lower Las Tunas. Walls are going up and you can start to get a feel for how the house might look and what effect it will have on views and on the dunes themselves. Local scuttlebutt says that the government agencies should be ruling on the legality of the building process (i.e. whether all permits and studies are in place) sometime this week. So we will see.
I have heard 2nd hand that the owner is a tugboat captain from New Jersey and really doesn’t care whether the local community embraces his project or not. That attitude should make his social life here very interesting indeed.
These photos were taken on June 13.
