The gold mine interests have been fighting back and getting the majority of the press coverage. The last protest (car cavalcade from Los Cabos through Todos Santos to La Paz) was poorly attended. Well it was a working weekday and attending the protest meant missing work – not the best idea. So the organizers of SOS Los Cabos recently sent out a plea for people to repost info about their cause. The following photo and info come directly from their email plea.

9,000 people in Los Cabos, BCS, MEXICO made a giant SOS to stop the authorities from authorizing any permits that may allow the Canadian corporations, Vista Gold, Pediment Gold and Argonaut (former Meridian) to start open pit TOXIC mining operations in the Sierra de la Laguna Biosphere Reserve, located near Los Cabos and only source of water in the region.
